The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is a public research university located in the twin cities of Urbana and Champaign, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It was founded in 1867 as one of the original 37 public land-grant institutions created under the Morrill Act of 1862.

For domestic students, the university offers a variety of scholarships, including the Chancellor’s Scholarship, which awards full tuition and fees to top incoming freshmen. The university also offers some other merit-based scholarships that award anywhere from $1,000 to full tuition. Several need-based scholarships are available to domestic students, including the Illinois Promise Scholarship Program and the Robert C. Byrd Honours Scholarship Program.

The university offers several different scholarship options for international students ranging from full tuition to partial funding. The most prestigious scholarship offered is the President’s International Scholarship which covers full tuition fees andalso room and board expenses. Several other merit-based scholarships are available that range in value from $5,000 to $10,000 per year. Additionally, there are many need-based scholarships available as well. 

Admission Requirements

• You must have completed high school or earned your diploma equivalent to be considered for admission. You must also submit academic records and financial documentation. 
• For admission to undergraduate programs, you are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores if you are applying as an international student; however, we highly recommend that you do so to strengthen your application. At the same time, the GRE or GMAT scores are a compulsory requirement to secure a spot in postgraduate courses. Your grades and test scores will help determine your eligibility for admission and scholarship opportunities. 
• You also need to provide evidence of proficiency in English through an approved test such as the TOEFL or IELTS exams. 
• The admission process at the university is highly selective, therefore, students must present a statement of purpose,  a well-rounded resume, and an experience letter (if any) along with the application to put them in the best light.
