Founded in 1785 as the Franklin College, the University of Georgia (UGA) is one of the oldest public universities in the US. UGA was the country’s first state-funded university. It is situated in Athens, Georgia, and offers over 140 UG and PG courses across its 17 schools and colleges. University of Georgia Admission Process

The application fees for UG programs for international students are around $70 to $100 while the application fees for graduate programs range from $150 to $200. University of Georgia’s acceptance rate is 48%. It is important to note that graduate programs at UGA have country-specific prerequisites, while all undergraduate programs have course-specific requirements. 

Undergraduate Admissions

Students applying to undergraduate programs at UGA must submit documents such as letters of recommendation (LoR), academic transcripts, resumes, and SOPs, among others. Based on the academic scores of each student, the admissions department will calculate a new GPA for them. International students must also provide English language proficiency scores while applying to UGA.

Graduate Admissions Requirements

In order to be eligible for a graduate programme, international students must have one of the following degrees:

• A bachelor’s degree (four years) 
• A three-year bachelor’s degree plus a master’s degree, or
• A three-year bachelor’s degree and completion of the first year of a master’s degree from an institution accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Furthermore, scores secured on exams such as  IELTS, and TOEFL must be presented to demonstrate linguistic proficiency.
