GRE Eligibility Criteria: All You Need To Know

GRE is an exam that was initially designed to evaluate a candidate’s verbal, quantitative and analytical writing ability i.e. skills that are important to attend a Grad School. But who is eligible to take the GRE? 

The answer is that there is no particular eligibility criteria for GRE- anyone can take this test. 

However,  it is important to check the eligibility criteria of the program or institute you are applying to. Every university has its own requirements and you need to fulfil those if you want to get selected. Nonetheless, the eligibility criteria of a university is  only reserved  for that university and does not affect who can take the GRE.

GRE has never fixed an upper or lower age limit. If you think that you are ready to take GRE, then you can take it at any age.

What is the Educational Qualification required for taking the GRE?

There is no (minimum) educational qualification required.  However, keep in mind that though GRE doesn’t, most  programs do expect the candidates to have an undergraduate degree. 

For how long is the Score Valid?

The GRE score is valid for five years. Within this period,  you can use it to apply to as many colleges as you wish to.
