GMAT Exam Day Checklist

The GMAT exam day is a very important day of your life, hence, you need to make sure you have everything with you before you head off to the test center. You have spent months preparing for it and one tiny mistake can ruin things for you. So, what do you do to make sure you have everything — from your ID proofs to your registration cards; you make a GMAT exam day checklist.

We have compiled a comprehensive list of what to carry on the GMAT exam day for you. 

GMAT Exam Day Checklist 

• Your GMAT appointment confirmation from Pearson Vue.
• An approved ID proof – You must ensure that your ID proof contains your name and date of birth in the exact way you had mentioned on the GMAT registration form. The ID proof which you carry should comply with the local ID requirements, otherwise you will not be allowed to attempt the exam and would have to forfeit your exam fees.
• Prescription eyeglasses.
• A water bottle to help you stay hydrated through the exam duration.

Now that you are aware of what all you can bring to the exam centre it is also important to make note of the items that you are not allowed to bring to the centre. Below is the list of items which you must not bring with you to the exam centre : 

• Food, candy and drinks are not allowed inside the centre unless pre approved specifically.
• No firearms, knives or any weaponry.

Apart from the above items, there is a list of things that you can bring along with you but need to be left in the locker before the exam commences. These include : 

• Mobile phones
• Wallets, purses and handbags
• Watches
• Backpacks
• Calculators
• Thesaurus
• Study materials/ books
• Lip Balm
• Communication Devices
• Rulers
• Blank sheets
• Food and water ( you can’t carry them inside the centre but can leave them in the locker and access them during the breaks)
• Writing Material

To ensure that there are no issues while entering the test center do a double check that you are not carrying anything from the list of banned items. Some other key points to remember on test day are : 

• Confirm the date of your test, the time slot and your test center location on the official account —  mba.com.
• Visit the test center a day before or a few days before so that you are familiar with the route. Doing so will help you avoid any potential delays due to traffic or other factors. More so, you won’t get lost on the day.  Reach the center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time.
• Make sure  you are well rested the night before the exam. 

In addition to the above GMAT exam day checklist, you must also ensure that you have the list of the five colleges you wish to send your scores to. You will be expected to pick the five universities before the start of your exam. The GMAT exam registration fee covers this cost  as well. If you don’t have the list of colleges, it will cost you $28 per school to send the scores at a later date. Another important point to remember is the order in which you wish to attempt the exam. You will be provided three choices.  

• Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing 
• Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing 
• Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal

Choose an order that you will be most comfortable with and confident about.
