The Graduate Record Examination (GRE), a standardized test is conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is required for applying to a college/university — across the globe — that provides a higher education degree such as MS. There are three sections in the exam that you are tested on — Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. GRE Test Rescheduling Fee & Center Change Fee in India:
In case you cannot take your exam on the date you registered due to unforeseen circumstances, there is a provision for that. You can reschedule your exam for some extra cost and choose a new date. This can be done through your ETS account online, or by a telephonic conversation with a representative of the Regional Registration Centre in India. ETS charges USD 50 (INR ~3700) to request for a change in the date of exam.
Additionally, a change in the test centre also costs you a similar sum of USD 50. So, make sure you check your calendar and any other factor that might prevent you from giving the test on your chosen day before completing the registration process.
If you are a paper-based test-taker and fail to pay the registration fee on time for the GRE exam, ETS charges a late registration fee of USD 25 (Rs. 1625).

ETS accepts payments through any of the following modes:
- Credit/Debit Card (American Express®, MasterCard® or Visa®, Discover®, JCB®)
- Paypal
- Money Order
- E-cheque service (only drawn against US accounts)
Once you complete the registration and choose the test date and centre, you can go ahead and pay the GRE fees.
GRE Refund Policy:
The maximum eligible refund for the GRE fee is 50% of the total fee. In order to be eligible for a refund, you have to cancel your registration no later than four days before the examination.
Moreover, for payments made through Credit/Debit cards, the refund will be processed and credited back to the same Credit/Debit card or bank account.
