Program Name : (CLIPP-IBH) CareerLabs Industry Partnership Program – Internship Based Hiring
Program Partner : Pratian Technologies
Domain : Computer Science / Information Technology
Service Validity : 6 Months from the date of the program or until the student gets a secure job
Design Philosophy of an Intership Based Hiring Program :
As we move to 2030 and beyond, India’s Demographic dividend is the biggest bet we have on the growth for the country. The world’s growth engine is also dependent on English speaking technology savvy Indian graduates to drive the engine.
The ground reality of employability of students beyond the top 100 colleges in the country is quite concerning. Post 4 years of graduation in Engineering college most of the students are still unemployed. The factors affecting unemployment of a student are
- Lack of Industry required Skills
- Lack of Competency to convert knowledge to hands on experience
- Lack of Opportunities
- Lack of Exposure to Foundational Best Practices
What this means for companies trying to Hire a Fresher?
They have to invest a minimum of 6 months to train the fresher to a level where they become productive for the company. Not all companies can afford to do this investment of time, manpower and money to make this happen.
The Internship based Hiring Program (IBH) from CareerLabs is a aimed to solve this gap in India today and the world in the near future.
How it Benefits Students

How is assured placement possible?
Our recruitment model of recruiting, training, and deploying engineers to large corporations is sustainable and profitable in the long run. The demand for trained talent from large corporations will always exist, making our business model essential and in-demand.
As large corporations require new projects, they outsource the projects or the manpower requirement to staffing companies that organizes teams and manage projects. IBH program is designed along with these staffing companies that have the relationships with large corporations where they have consistent demand. This ensures that across the year there is a constant supply of requirements to the staffing companies and therein we ensure our IBH students get placed into projects.
How is a student evaluated?
- Our student intake is quality-assured with a comprehensive eligibility criteria, which includes a technical test and a video interview. These components assess the technical aptitude and communication skills of prospective students.
- The technical acumen is evaluated through a series of assessments, involving basic algorithmic questions.
- The rating scale for the above test is as follows –
We select students from all six bands based on their performance in the technical test. The bands, which are indicative of the students skills are used later to determine the kind of technology that the student must be trained in.
- For communication interview, the evaluators ask questions to assess the student’s communication skills. The evaluation metrics are the following –
Students who fall into the poor category are rejected as they are unable to produce even a simple statement.
- Selected students are passed on to the Pratian team for communication evaluation via recorded interviews.
- Pratian team checks communication capability of students and share final ratings for the selection.
How do we bet on students capability :
- We have a strong on-the-job training where the students work as interns in Pratian Technologies for a period of 6 months
- During the training, the student undergoes the following –
The communication training happens either at the beginning or the end of the program.
- It is a 40 hours training sessions planned over 2 months.
- We conduct individual performance reviews thrice during the training to ensure students are learning and able to apply concepts effectively. The reviews enable us to provide personalized feedback and support.
- Once the student clears the third band of evaluation , they are clear to go ahead and sit for placement drives.
- If the student doesn’t perform well in the training , we change their track in the 5 month. We mostly lower the track to roles that involve no code or low code writing tasks.

What are we doing to help the students get placed?
A lot of students, irrespective of the training and placement support, were not placed within the 6 months duration. For those students, we are doing the following –
- We cover loan repayments for 7th and 8th months for students so that they don’t have to be burdened about the EMIs to be paid.
- Additional projects and training opportunities are provided for students to keep them engaged and provide further development.
- These students are also given the flexibility to work from home to reduce any additional costs apart from the EMI.
- For students who are pushed towards non-IT roles, we provide them with training at no extra cost to ensure that they are fully equipped with the skills to be placed,
- In bi-monthly townhalls our leadership team addresses any concerns or doubts the students may have.
- Our students can also reach out to mentors for guidance and support as needed.
We are committed to supporting our students in every way possible.
