In Quantitative Reasoning as well, the score can be obtained in one-point increments like 143,165. Here as well 0.5 increment is not valid like 143.5 or 165.5. Verbal Reasoning offers you a one-point increment, for e.g. 131,142,157. There is no provision for 0.5 mark increments like 131.5, 142.5.

In Analytical writing, the scale initiates from 0-6 with half-point increments like 1.5,4.5.

The duration of the test is 3 hours 45 minutes. A 10 minutes break is allotted after every third section. The computer adaptive test follows a certain algorithm. With every right answer the difficulty of the questions to follow in the next section increases. On the contrary, if you’re marking the wrong answer to a question, you’ll not be penalized but it will decrease the difficulty level of the forthcoming questions and the score will be constant. How to Calculate GRE General Test Raw Score?

As we know the GRE General Test score ranges from 130-170. The raw score is the number of questions that you have attempted and the number of correct answers that you have marked. For example, out of 40 questions in verbal reasoning, you have attempted all 40 and only 20 questions are correct. Then the raw score of verbal is 150 (130 + 20). Likewise, if you have attempted all 40 questions in quant and 30 of them are correct, then your quant raw score is 160 (130 + 30). Combining 150 and 160 scores from the verbal and quant section, you arrive at the total GRE score, 310 (150 + 160). This raw score is then equalized bringing in other factors like difficulty of the question in the sections and the relative difficulty compared to past five years tests. The moment you finish the test your verbal and quant score will be displayed on the test screen. The score of AWA will be updated into your score report after five-seven days.
